Woodlands

A new, expanded edition of my art book Woodlands will launch on Kickstarter this summer: follow the campaign to get notified when it goes live!

Woodlands is a hardcover art book featuring my ink paintings and coloured pencil drawings with dreamlike forest and fantasy themes.

I originally self-published the book in 2018, and both of its print runs sold out a few years ago. But now I have teamed up with the indie press Atthis Arts and we’re running a crowdfunding campaign to bring Woodlands back to life.

The new, expanded edition of Woodlands will contain all the book’s original art and poetry, along with my later works in the same style, including some brand new drawings and paintings from 2026 that you haven’t seen yet.

In addition to the art book, the campaign will also feature my new 2027 Calendar. You’ll be able to choose a pledge level with only the Woodlands art book, or get both the book and the calendar together. Both items will be shipped from the United States, and can be shipped to most countries worldwide.

A note for international buyers outside the USA: I warmly recommend getting both my book and the calendar via the Kickstarter campaign, instead of waiting until later. The Kickstarter campaign will provide better international shipping options, compared to regular shipping fees from the publisher’s website, afterwards.

Also, keep in mind that only Kickstarter backers can receive the additional rewards (like in-depth behind-the-scenes material and bonus artwork in digital format). Most of the bonus rewards won’t be available anywhere else!

Text: Expanded Edition, Art Book, woodlands, Ulla Thynell. Illustration: A blend of dark trees, a sky in shades of lavender, blue, peach, and orange, with the ethereal figures of three bears magically emanating from the tree tops, as a small figure at their base in a pointed hat and staff, gazes upward to the forest and a crescent moon.

You can support the Woodlands project by clicking the “Notify me on launch” button on its Kickstarter page! Sharing the campaign link makes a huge difference too. Thank you so much. ♥
